DSC_0442

The Wildlife Center of Virginia partnered with Campbell County to release a bald eagle in Long Island Park in Gladys, VA on Tuesday, July 30, 2019. The bald eagle, who was banded in 2012, was found on June 12th by a conservation officer at the landfill in Campbell County. After inspection at The Wildlife Center of Virginia, it was determined that the eagle had ingested poison and was close to death. Veterinarians and staff at The Wildlife Center of Virginia worked diligently to nurse the bald eagle back to health and planned to release her at Long Island Park.
