The Governor of Virginia has expanded the eligibility criteria for the Rebuild VA Small Business Grant Program. Previously when the program launched in August, those businesses who had received prior aid due to the COVID-19 pandemic were not eligible for the Rebuild VA grant. Rebuild VA is now open to all types of of Virginia small businesses that meet size and other eligibility criteria. Businesses with less than $10 million in gross revenue or fewer than 250 employees will be eligible. Along with the expansion of eligibility criteria, Governor Northam also increased the amount of grant funding that businesses can receive. Originally, grant funding started at $70 million from federal CARES Act money; Governor Northam has now directed an additional $30 million to the program. The maximum grant award increases from $10,000 to $100,000.
